2024 Lo-Fi Chardonnay
The 2024 Chardonnay is a bit of a departure from our usual Lo-Fi style. With a fire near Oak Savanna Vineyard in 2024, we decided to source fruit from Strange Family Vineyard, located along Drum Canyon Road in the Sta. Rita Hills.
We also took a slightly different approach in the cellar, fermenting and aging the wine in two new Stockinger oak barrels. The result is a clean, crisp expression of Chardonnay, with bright citrus, green apple, pear, and a distinct mineral edge. The new oak brings a little added texture, depth, and complexity without overwhelming the fruit. Fresh acidity keeps everything lively and balanced, with none of the heavy, buttery character often associated with California Chardonnay.
A little different from our previous Chardonnays, but still very much Lo-Fi. Just 48 cases produced.
