2025 Lo-Fi Sauvignon Blanc – Coquelicot Vineyard – Santa Barbara County

This is definitely not your typical Sauvignon Blanc. Bursting with aromas of lime rind, yellow grapefruit, fresh sorrel, and green peppercorn, this wine showcases the bright, wild, herbaceous side of Sauvignon Blanc. There’s a subtle hint of fresh green chile in the background, with those naturally occurring pyrazines adding a distinctive savory edge to the wine’s vibrant citrus character.

Rather than pressing the grapes immediately after harvest, we destem the fruit and ferment it on its skins for a little over two weeks, much like we would a red wine. This extended skin contact brings additional color, texture, and structure, creating our own take on an orange wine with plenty of personality.

While we love the character of skin-contact wines, we’re not always fans of the excessive cloudiness and sediment that can come along for the ride. So we chose to filter this one before bottling, giving us a cleaner, more polished finished wine while preserving the character we’re after.

Made with our usual minimalist Lo-Fi philosophy, this is Sauvignon Blanc turned up a notch. Bright, citrus-driven, herbaceous, textured, and just a little unconventional.
