Description
2025 Lo-Fi Savagnin – Oak Savanna Vineyard, Santa Barbara County
Introducing our very first Savagnin!
We are incredibly excited to welcome Savagnin to the Lo-Fi lineup. An ancient white grape variety with deep roots in the Jura region of eastern France, nestled between Burgundy and Switzerland, Savagnin has long been prized for its vibrant acidity, distinctive aromatics, and remarkable ability to express the character of where it’s grown.
While Savagnin has centuries of history in France, it remains a rarity here in California, with only a handful of vineyards exploring its potential. Our first vintage comes from Oak Savanna Vineyard, located along Foxen Canyon Road in Santa Barbara County, where we’ve planted approximately one acre of this fascinating variety.
The grapes were hand-harvested and pressed immediately, then fermented in barrel using native yeasts. The wine was aged for 10 months in a combination of neutral French oak and once-used Austrian Stockinger oak barrels, which were kept topped throughout aging. This gentle, minimalist approach allows the natural character of Savagnin to shine through.
Produced in very limited quantities, our inaugural 2025 vintage represents an exciting new chapter for Lo-Fi and our continuing exploration of lesser-known grape varieties.
First vintage. Limited production. A new chapter for Lo-Fi.
